Adrian Mannarino v Laslo Djere
Both of these players did really well to get to the final in Winston-Salem but Adrian Mannarino looked quite a bit sharper. Djere won most of his matches in a very tough fashion having quite a bit of luck while doing so. The Serbian is exhausted and that will certainly play a factor in the final that looks anything but close.
Mannarino smashes his opponent in the semi-final not allowing a single break point in the entire match and he’s looking better now than at the start of the week. Confidence is very high and he’s simply feeling himself this week in Winston-Salem.
Overall, he’s a better hard court player than Djere for whom this will be the first final on hard courts. He’s looking more composed, he’s a lefty playing against a righty with far more gas left in the tank. It’s all shaping up for a comfortable win for Mannarino and while I think he’ll win I don’t see it being that comfortable.
It’s a final after all but back Mannarino to get it done.
Tip: Mannarino to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
Liudmila Samsonova v Aliaksandra Sasnovich
Liudmila Samsonova had a breakout on grass last year but this year she’s doing it on hard courts. The Russian has a very powerful style with a strong serve and groundstrokes to back it up. She won a trophy in Washington already during this stretch and she’s going for number two in Cleveland.
Sasnovich is an equally solid tennis player who is having an amazing week in Cleveland but it didn’t look as impressive as the week of Samsonova. We’re looking at players of different talent levels as well because Sasnovich makes up with grit what she lacks in talent.
Samsonova is the far more complete player and she didn’t drop a single set this week. It looks eerily similar to her Washington run which concluded with her beating Kanepi in the final. I do think we’ll see a similar thing happen here as I don’t see Sasnovich beating her.
Tip: Samsonova to win: 3/4 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
Daria Kasatkina v Daria Saville
Another interesting matchup will happen in Granby, Canada with a Russian taking on a former Russian. Both Kasatkina and Saville did well to reach the final but Kasatkina was a bit more impressive. She’s the better player overall so it’s not a surprise and she already has a hard court trophy to her name.
It came in San Jose recently and now she’s looking to add another one. Heavily favoured, Kasatkina will rely on her deep and precise groundstrokes to move Saville around the court and put her in uncomfortable positions. Saville has ways to counter it but it will be very tough.
She is yet to beat Kasatkina losing twice. I do think the Russian will get this done because she’s proven to be a top 10 player this year. I just don’t think Saville has enough to seriously hurt her despite the brilliant week and sharp play. I’d actually take the straight sets comfortable win here.
Tip: Kasatkina to win in straight sets: 10/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
