Jil Teichmann v Shuai Zhang Head to Head

Shuai Zhang has had a good run in the US Open swing, and she is certainly ready for the final major of the season.
Despite starting on a slow note – first-round loss in San Jose and a round-two exit in Toronto – the 33-year-old picked up her game by reaching the quarterfinal in Cincinnati and Cleveland.
In both those tournaments, Shuai moved past the likes of Katerina Siniakova, Naomi Osaka, and Anett Kontaveit.
Earlier in the year, Zhang was the winner at WTA Lyon and the finalist in Birmingham. It has been a decent year for the World No. 35, who, on the doubles side of things, made it to four finals – including the Wimbledon and Stuttgart Open.
She is also the reigning doubles champion at Flushing Meadows.

Teichmann, Visibly Struggling
Jil Teichmann has been struggling a fair bit of late and isn’t in the best of form for the tournament.
In San Jose, she couldn’t clear the qualifiers and ended up losing to Elizabeth Mandlik. In Toronto, she reached round three but was put down by Simona Halep in straight sets.
The Swiss last played in Cincinnati, where she had the misfortune of playing Petra Kvitova in the opener – where she went down fighting in three sets.
The 25-year-old is the current World No. 30 and has had an average year on the whole, with most of her success coming in the clay-court tournaments in Madrid, Rome, and the French Open. Jil, however, did reach the quarterfinal in Dubai as a qualifier.
Zhang v Teichmann Prediction and Tip
This is an exciting match that can go either way. Both players are well-poised to put up a fight, but the odds are in the favour of Zhang, given her recent form and momentum.
Teichmann can surprise, although it is a tall order to deliver.
