Sam Querrey v Ilya Ivashka Head to Head
The pair have never played each other before. This will be the first match between Querrey, who is now 34 years old, and Ivashka, six years his junior.

In the case of Querrey it is a case of how the once mighty have fallen.
The big serving American, who has 10 career titles to his name, was once ranked just outside the top ten in the world, but now he is in danger off dropping outside the best 300 players after a long and sustained poor run of form, and he owes his place in the main draw to a wildcard.
His heyday in New York was back in 2017 when he reached the quarter-finals, but he has not won a match here since.
Querrey’s last victory was in the first round of the Queen’s Club Championship on grass, but he then lost in the first round at Eastbourne, Wimbledon and Newport Beach.
He did not compete in any of the hard court events prior to the US Open this year.

Atlanta Semi-Finalist Ivashka
Ivashka has just suffered the disappointment of the defence of the title he won in Winston Salem last year ending at the second round stage this time round, beaten by the Swiss player Marc-Andrea Huesler in three sets.
And that followed on the heels of his first round defeat in Washington, and his failure io qualify for Cincinnati.
However, he has not been totally devoid of good results during the American hard court season, and reached the semi-finals in Atlanta, losing to the eventual winner, Alex de Minaur.
He reached the third round of the US Open last year.
Querrey v Ivashka Prediction and Tip
Given Querrey’s recent form and record, it would be something of a New York fairy-tale if he were to win this match. Ivashka will begin a very heavy favourite to advance.
