Madison Keys v Camila Giorgi Head to Head
This is an interesting rivalry with Keys having won three of the four matches that have been played between them. Giorgi’s only win over Keys came on grass while the American has won on clay and indoor and outdoor hard courts.

Keys Tames Yastremska after Slow Start
Keys was an overwhelming favourite going up in her opener against Dayana Yastremska after having earlier made it through to the semifinal in Cincinnati. That Yastremska managed to put up a fight wasn’t much of a surprise given she is a former world number 21 herself.
In the end, Keys overcame a slow start to complete a 7-6 (3), 6-3 win in an hour and 44 minutes.
It was Yastremska who drew first blood by breaking the American in the fourth game and going 4-2 up. Keys retaliated with one of her own in the seventh game, saved three set-points in the 12th game and then scooped up the set in the tie-breaker that followed.
A quick exchange of breaks in the sixth and seventh games followed, but once Keys had moved past her opponent’s serve yet again in the eighth game, it was all over bar the shouting.
Keys has another tricky opponent up against her in the second round.

Giorgi Scrapes Past Bondar
She was 1/4 going up against Anna Bondar in her opener but there was barely anything to choose from between those two players in the first two sets.
The Italian registered a 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 win over Bondar, needing an hour and 43 minutes to make it to the second round.
What was interesting to see is that Giorgi faced just three break-points in the entire match but lost all of them. In turn she broke her opponent six times from the 12 opportunities Giorgi got, helping herself to 22 winners and delivering 26 unforced errors as compared to 14 and 29 respectively from Bondar.
Giorgi will need to up her game, like she did managed in the final set of her opener when she takes on the in-form Keys in round two.
Keys v Giorgi Prediction and Tip
Keys will start off a favourite, sure, but it might not be as straightforward as the first round for her. Expecting a few games to be played but could still be a straight-setter.
