Ajla Tomljanovic v Evgeniya Rodina Head to Head
It’s 1-1 at the moment with Tomljanovic getting the last laugh in the 2015 WTA Pattaya. Rodina’s sole win over the Aussie came 11 years ago in Memphis.

Evgeniya Rodina, playing in her first competitive match in over three years, did well to upset the number 27 seed Martina Trevisan 7-5, 6-1.
The match lasted for an hour and 43 minutes and saw the 33-year-old Russian win on the back of Trevisan’s 43 unforced errors to her 22. On the winners side of things, Rodina was still rusty as she could manage just eight of them to her opponent’s 24.
Of course, a win is a win, but Evgeniya cannot expect such a generous, cavalier performance from Tomljanovic, who has had a good few weeks of late on the tour.
As for her pedigree, Rodina is a former World No. 67 who is still on the prowl for her first singles WTA title. Her last final of any sort was the Indian Wells Challenger doubles in March 2019, where she was partnered with Kristyna Pliskova.

Tomljanovic Tames Muchova
World No. 46 Ajla Tomljanovic is off to a blazing start in the US Open 2022 as she beat Karolina Muchova 6-3, 7-6(5).
The 29-year-old arrived in New York following a scintillating quarterfinal result in the Cincinnati Open – a first such feat for her in a WTA 1000 event. Starting as a qualifier, Ajla dispatched the likes of Clara Tauson, Nuria Parrizas Diaz, Taylor Townsend, Paula Badosa, and Veronika Kudermetova.
Before that, she had reached round two in Toronto from the qualifiers.
A quarterfinalist in this year’s Wimbledon and a few other WTA 250 events, Tomljanovic has had a relatively better season with her tally now at 29-20.
Tomljanovic v Rodina Prediction and Tip
It is hard to imagine Rodina moving past Tomljanovic – who has arguably been in a much better form than Trevisan of late. Expect this match to end in a comfortable win for the Aussie.
