Clara Burel v Alsison van Uytvanck Head to Head
The pair have played each other once before at the Australian Open last year, Van Uytvanck winning in three sets.

Burel had to come through qualifying to make the main draw in Flushing Meadows, but she was one of the headline-makers on day two of the tournament as she knocked out the Wimbledon champion, Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan, at the first hurdle.
Initially, though, that seemed unlikely as it was the Frenchwoman who came under pressure on her own serve. She saved two break points in the opening game of the match, and then four more in her next service game, which featured eight deuces before Burel finally claimed it.
It was, therefore, somewhat against the run of play when she then secured the first break of the match. Rybakina broke back to level, but then dropped her serve once more, enabling Burel to serve out for the set.
When the world number 25 was broken again at the start of the second set, Burel could sense a famous victory.
Rybakina had break back chances, could not take any of them, and her US Open was over having barely started.

Van Uytvanck Beats American Veteran
Van Uytvanck was drawn in her opening match against Venus Williams, the oldest player in the competition at the age of 42 yeas old, who was appearing in an Open-era record 23rd US Open.
Having spent nearly a year between competitive matches before returning to action earlier this month, Williams was understandably rusty to start with, and the Belgian was able to take the first set for the loss of just one game.
Williams, though, is not a seven-times Grand Slam champion for nothing, and showed that the competitive juices are still flowing by breaking the Van Uytvanck serve at the start of the second set.
She then saved three break back points, before the Belgian was finally able to level.
Both women had a further break point apiece, but were unable to take them, and it went to a tie-break, which the Belgian finally won.
Burel v Van Uytvanck Prediction and Tip
Based on their world rankings and their previous match, Van Uytvanck will start the favourite, but, after what Burel did to the Wimbledon champion, she will need to be taken seriously.
