Veronika Kudermetova v Dalma Galfi Head to Head
The duo has faced off once at the highest level and that came in Miami earlier this season. Kudermetova was up 5-1 in the first set in that set when Galfi had to retire from the encounter.
Interestingly, in two other matches played on the ITF circuit in 2016 and 2017, it was Galfi who had come away trumps.

Kudermetova Dominates Zanevska
For the second match in a row, Kudermetova managed a straight-set win to double her career win count at the US Open where she had never reached the second round before this.
The Russian registered a 6-2, 6-3 win over Maryna Zanevska in a match that lasted an hour and 26 minutes and saw Kudermetova take advantage of her first serve.
She won 83% of her first serve points, serving six aces and hitting 21 winners to her opponent’s one and eight respectively. And that also meant Kudermetova wasn’t broken even once in the match as she dished that fate out on three occasions to Zanevska.
This follows a straight-set win over Donna Vekic in the first round as Kudermetova looks to continue on her 2022 form journey which has seen her win 19 of her 28 matches on hard court surfaces.

Galfi Stuns Dart
She is ranked 91st in the world and has never been higher than 81st on the charts but Galfi did not play like one when she took on Harriet Dart in her second round match.
Galfi, who had earlier shocked Nuria Parrizas-Diaz in the first round and had just one second round appearance at a Grand Slam, registered a 6-4, 6-0 win over Dart to seal her third round berth.
For the second match running, Galfi was 11/10 or greater odds to register a win and did that in less than an hour.
Galfi went 4-0 up in quick time before Dart broke her once but from there on it was all one-way traffic as the Briton managed to win just three more games in the encounter.
