Andrey Rublev v Denis Shapovalov Head to Head
There have been three previous meetings between these two players and Shapovalova leads 2-1 on head to head.
Their last match came at the St. Petersburg Open in 2020 which Rublev had won with Shapovalov clinching straight-set victories in Miami and Winston-Salem before that.

Rublev Brushes Kwon Aside
After the kind of working over that Rublev had got from Laslo Djere in the first round, one would have expected him to stumble a tad against Soon-woo Kwon as well.
Fortunately for the Russia, who hasn’t been in the best of form in recent times, there were no repeats of those shenanigans as he stormed into the third round with a straight-set win over Kwon.
Rublev was on court for an hour and 45 minutes in his 6-3, 6-0, 6-4 demolition of Kwon in a match in which he earned six break-points and broke his opponent every single time.
The only time Rublev remotely looked like he was in trouble was in the third set when he dropped his serve immediately after breaking Kwon in the fifth game. A couple of games later, he broke Kwon again, and served it out to 15 to clinch the third round spot.

Shapovalov Needs Four Against Carballes Baena
Roberto Carballes Baena is ranked 80th in the world and not quite fond of hard court surfaces and Shapovalov would have hoped for a more clinical display than he put up in his second round win over his Spanish opponent.
Shapovalov needed nearly three hours to get Carballes Baena, winning 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 to make it to the third round.
The 2020 quarterfinalist was down an early break in the first set before breaking his opponent twice to win it, but in the second failed to overcome a break of serve in the seventh game.
Things went to serve till the fifth game in the third set before Shapovalov edged forward with a break. The momentum with him, Shapovalov did not let that go as he broke Carballes Baena twice, in the fifth and seventh game, of the fourth set to seal the deal.
Against Rublev, he will want to get a lot more of those first serves in than the 59% he did in the second round.
Rublev v Shapovalov Prediction and Tip
Rublev is a strong favourite here against Shapovalov despite form issues and we are backing him to go through to the fourth without too much trouble.
