Carreno Busta, who had needed four sets against both, Dominic Thiem and Alexander Bublik, dropped another set en route his third round win over Alex de Minaur.
Things looked to be going his way when he packed his Aussie opponent up 6-1, 6-1 in less than an hour and a quarter, but then dropped serve late in the third set to concede it.
In the fourth, Carreno Busta had a match-point off de Minaur’s serve but finally clinched it in the tie-breaker that followed.

Khachanov Benefits from Draper Injury
Khachanov was a second favourite, going into his third round match at 6/5 odds to surmount Jack Draper. The match was nicely poised too with both having snuck off a set and Draper then leading 2-0 in the third before a muscle in his hamstring gave way and that was the beginning of the end in the encounter for the Brit.
For the world number 31, Khachanov, however, that would have been music to his ears as Draper limped through most of the third set and was facing a serve to take the set despite being up 4-2 at one stage.
What Khachanov will know is he needs to do a lot better he did against Draper – his second serve win percentage read an abysmal 34% and the Russian also served up 41 unforced errors to go with it.
Against a player of the calibre and form of Carreno Busta, that might not work too well.
