Victoria Azarenka v Karolina Pliskova Head to Head
This is one of the most well-balanced rivalries among the top players in the tennis world with eight matches having resulted in four wins apiece for both players.
However, their most recent encounter came in 2019, and a lot has obviously changed since then. Pliskova’s form has taken a big dip while Azarenka has had her issues off the court.

After sending Marta Kostyuk packing in the second round, dropping just five games en route, Azarenka crushed Petra Martic in the third round with consummate ease. She won 6-3, 6-0 in an hour and 22 minutes to romp into the fourth round, a step further from her showing last season here.
A finalist at the 2020 US Open, Azarenka exchanged serves with Martic in the first three games of their encounter but from that point onward it was all a case of one-way traffic in her favour.
The Belarusian needed just 37 minutes to win the second set and the match to move into the fourth round.

Pliskova Overturns One Set Deficit
Belinda Bencic had gone into her third round match against Pliskova as a strong favourite but it was the Czech who overturned the loss of the first set to seal her fourth round spot.
Pliskova, who has been showing some signs of overturning the poor form that has afflicted her this season having made the semifinal in Cincinnati, entered round four with a 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 win over her Swiss opponent.
Having earlier also needed a three-setter in the first round against Magda Linette – and that had needed a final set tie-breaker – Pliskova was on court for two hours and 28 minutes and was broken six times in the encounter.
Where she scored over Bencic was her serving improved drastically in the second set and Bencic’s fell in the decider.
Now coming up against Azarenka, Pliskova will continue to remain a slight second favourite at 10/11 (with bet365) but this could be a tightly-fought encounter.
