Aryna Sabalenka v Karolina Pliskova Head to Head
There have been four meetings between these two players and both Sabalenka and Pliskova have won two apiece.
Sabalenka won in 2018 when she defeated the Czech player at Eastbourne and Cincinnati that season while Pliskova’s wins came at the 2021 Wimbledon and Montreal Open.

Form hasn’t been the best for Sabalenka in recent times but she had already shown a willingness to fight her way out of it after registering a scrappy victory over Kaia Kanepi in the second round.
An easy victory against Clara Burel followed soon after but against the Australian Open runner-up Danielle Collins, Sabalenka knew she had a task on her hand.
More so when Sabalenka fell a set behind in 44 minutes. Exchange of breaks to love followed, and that was followed by nine break-points, eight of which were frittered away.
It was off the ninth that Sabalenka broke her opponent and levelled things out before breaking Collins thrice in the final set to clinch a place in the last eight.

Pliskova Needs Threes & Sets against Azarenka
There wasn’t much to choose between Pliskova and her fourth round opponent Victoria Azarenka and the match lived up to those expectations.
Till the start of the third set, the two were at each other, nothing to choose between them and a long decider in the offing.
Pliskova, however, got her first break-point opportunity in the first game of the third set and once she had taken hold of it, she lost just five points in her next three service games to clinch her long-awaited quarterfinal berth – her first at a major this year.
With wins over Marie Bouzkova and Belinda Bencic already under her belt, Pliskova is slowly showing her old form signs and while she is 6/5 (with bet365) to overcome Sabalenka, it would be tough to count her out.
