Katerina Siniakova v Jodie Burrage Head to Head

Katerina Siniakova defeated the number four seed Martina Trevisan in the opener this week with 6-1, 6-4 to kick start her campaign in Portoroz.
With this win, she has certainly staked her claim as one of the dark horses to beat in the tournament. That said, her overall singles form in 2022 hasn’t been impressive as she is ranked World No. 82 and has a tally of 19-18 as of Thursday morning.
Her sole highlight remains the ITF title run she delivered in Poland in August, alongside a third-round stint in Miami and a quarterfinal run in Hamburg.
However, Siniakova has an incredible doubles pedigree that she can tap into. She is the Doubles No. 1 right now – having won the US Open doubles with Barbora Krejcikova only last week.
With that, Katerina has also achieved the rare feat of a Golden Career Slam in doubles with all four Slams and Olympic Gold – with Krejcikova. Perhaps, this can inspire the 26-year-old to rise to the occasion on the singles side of things too.

Burrage Moves Past Krunic
Jodie Burrage started as a qualifier in the WTA Portoroz 2022 and dismissed Nika Radisic and Stefanie Voegele to reach the main draw.
There, she made quick work of Aleksandra Krunic and dispatched her 6-4, 6-4 to set up the clash with Siniakova.
Burrage, age 23, is the current World No. 151 and arrived for the tournament with a tally of 31-23. She has spent the bulk of her season on the ITF circuit, picking up two runner-up trophies and reaching the latter rounds in several other events on the circuit.
As for her results on the WTA Tour, her highlight includes reaching the third round in the Eastbourne International after beating Petra Martic and the then World No. 4 Paula Badosa. However, Jodie has not quite managed to build on that form further – yet.
Siniakova v Burrage Prediction and Tip
This match should end in a straight-set win for the Czech. Although her singles form isn’t quite sharp, she is skilled enough to make quick work of Burrage.
