Sebastian Korda v Hugo Gaston Head to Head
Korda and Gaston have contested just one match before this. It was a Group Stage match at the Next Gen ATP Finals last year which the American won in five truncated sets.

It hasn’t been the kind of season Sebastian Korda was hoping for at the beginning of the year. Korda has been far from his vintage 2021 form which saw him rise to within the top 30 and collect a maiden ATP title in Parma.
The American has been bothered by a persistent foot problem that cost him a place at this year’s Wimbledon Championships. His failure to amass 250 ranking points during the clay swing has seen his ranking fall substantially and is now close to exiting the top 50.
Korda will be looking to end the season with a flourish. He did produce something close to his best level during the North American hard courts, reaching the quarterfinals in Washington and the Round of 16 in Cincinnati, and in the latter defeating Frances Tiafoe along the way.
Korda is yet to place indoors this season.

Gaston Earns Main Draw Ticket
Following a handful of withdrawals, Hugo Gaston was among those next in line to earn their place in the main draw of the Moselle Open. The French lefty replaced countryman Gael Monfils and is sure to get a vociferous crowd by his side when he takes on Korda.
Gaston tends to bring his best tennis when he plays on home soil and he can be such a nuisance to play against especially when he feels his touch and poise on the court. He memorably made the third round of this year’s French Open, scoring a mammoth win over Australia’s Alex De Minaur in the first round.
The 21-year-old arrives in Metz on the back of a very commendable run in the Rennes Challenger where he made the semifinals and only lost to Dominic Thiem.
Korda v Gaston Prediction and Tip
Gaston’s overall record this year is hardly going to inspire any confidence, but as I said, he is such a nightmarish opponent to play against on home territory. Korda might not have it easy here.
