Andy Murray v Alex de Minaur Head to Head
There has been one previous meeting between these two players and it was de Minaur who won that match in Zhuhai in 2019. Another meeting was supposed to happen at the 2018 Washington Open but Murray gave his Aussie opponent a walkover.

Murray was a part of the Big Four of tennis and now has his chance at featuring in tandem with the other three – Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. And he would love to make it count, especially if he can help his side win the contest.
The Brit, however, might not have it easy. That’s because his record since shifting over to the US Open Series has been disappointing.
Sure, Murray made it to the third round at the US Open which was probably par for the course given his ranking but he has won just three of his seven matches as a part of the US Open Series – hardly a record he will be very chuffed about.

De Minaur Strong in America
While Murray had his struggle in the American hard court swing, de Minaur managed to hold his own ground despite the odd upset.
Like he did bow out of the Washington Open in the first round itself but that was probably down to the exhaustion from having played all of the preceding week when he won the title in Atlanta.
Later, de Minaur would go on to made the third round at both, the Montreal Masters and the US Open and then win both his Davis Cup matches – against Benjamin Bonzi and David Goffin – to enter this tournament on the back of some favourable results going his way.
