Veronika Kudermetova v Beatriz Haddad Maia
Veronika Kudermetova had a very easy win in the previous round against a player that generally doesn’t play much tennis on the WTA tour and it showed. She was en route to a 6-0 6-0 finish but eventually settled for a 6-0 6-1 win. It was a spectacular demonstration of attacking tennis that should worry Haddad Maia quite a bit.
The Brazilian evaded playing against Naomi Osaka but I’m pretty sure she would have rather played that much. Skipping a match might lose her momentum and a slow start against Kudermetova could be really costly. Still, her season has been impressive and she won’t be underestimated by Kudermetova.
They never played before so it should be a really good one. Kudermetova is favoured in this albeit slightly. It’s going to be a very competitive match, probably going three sets because Haddad Maia rarely gets beaten easily. I’m not sure who will win but the over on games looks like a very enticing option.
Take the over on the 20,5 games.

Jelena Ostapenko v Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva
So the odds paint this matchup as an easy win for Ostapenko but I’m not so sure. She showed herself quite vulnerable at this event despite winning two matches and she certainly did not demonstrate the tennis that she is capable of.
Her opponent is enjoying her best run as a pro currently and she certainly won’t back down here. There is very little pressure to win that match and outsiders are quite dangerous in those positions. If Ostapenko produces an error-ridden performance, things could get interesting.
They obviously never played before and it’s a matchup that should favour Ostapenko traditionally but I do think the youngster will get her some problems. Backing Ostapenko to win this one gives you very little value but a play on three sets is certainly worth it.
I think it’ll happen.
Tip: Three sets in the match: 6/4 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
Magda Linette v Emma Raducanu
Emma Raducanu has a chance to reach a semi-final in Seoul but it will be a tricky task against a very in-form Linette. The Polish player has played one of the better seasons of her career and she’s playing a really strong event right now. She played well in Chennai last week getting to the final so it’s a really good spot to back her.
I would not recommend it against Raducanu though as the Brit seemingly found her footing a bit. A new coach, the US Open is finally behind her and she seems more comfortable on the court than in previous months. Some good wins certainly make her a favourite to go deep her if she can keep the consistency.
They haven’t played before so neither player won’t know how to respond to the other but I think Raducanu does a bit better with problem serving, at least when she’s playing well. I think that backing her to win is the right play however I see her winning only in three sets.
Tip: Raducanu to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
