Stefanos Tsitsipas v Frances Tiafoe Head to Head
At the highest level these two players have faced off three times with Tiafoe leading 2-1, having won at the 2021 Wimbledon and Vienna Open.
Tsitsipas’ win came at the 2017 Tokyo Open but one must quickly add here that they have played three other times, at the Next Gen Finals, Hopman Cup and the 2021 Olympics with the Greek clinching all three.

Tsitsipas was shocked in the first round at the US Open earlier this year, and while his overall record for the season hasn’t been that off the mark, his inability to have gone really far at Grand Slams on a consistent basis might have been jarring.
That said, Tsitsipas has been able to do the next best thing since that opening US Open loss and that’s to defeat the next three opponents he’s faced. Some might say that two of them, at the Davis Cup, were ranked rather lowly, but you play the opponent you are drawn against.
Also, on day one here, Tsitsipas was up against Diego Schwartzman, who might not be the toughest outside of clay but still has the quality to trouble some of the best. Instead, Tsitsipas carved out a 6-2, 6-1 victory to help his team earn a point.
And while his opponent here enters this match on the back of better form than Schwartzman, Tsitsipas does have the game to take him down.

Tiafoe No Match for Djokovic
A lot was expected from Tiafoe when he went up against the former world number one Djokovic but the 21-time Grand Slam winner proved to be too strong for the American.
The reason behind that hope was Tiafoe’s performance at the US Open where he reached as far as the semifinal and the fact Djokovic had been out of competitive action for a couple of months.
Instead, Tiafoe fell to a 6-1, 6-3 defeat at the hands of the Serb, and now enters this match knowing very well that if this does get played it will be a pressure encounter. The question will then boil down to who can handle the pressure better in a deciding match.

In a match that will decide who wins the Laver Cup, we will have to tip it to Tsitsipas to clinch this but in three.
