Rinderknech Falls to Hurkacz in Metz
On his last outing on home soil, Arthur Rinderknech was well beaten by Hubert Hurkacz in Metz, losing 6-3 6-2 to the towering Pole.
Despite hitting 10 aces and landing more first serves at 71%, Rinderknech paid a hefty price for failing to put pressure on Hurkacz’s service games. The Frenchman created just a single break point chance in the match and which was quickly nullified by his opponent.
At the same time, he was broken three times on his delivery with his second serve a major area of weakness that was fully exploited.
Considering this was Rinderknech’s first indoor tournament of the season, he still managed to exceed expectations by reaching the quarterfinals. And losing to Hrukacz is not a shame by any stretch.

Copil Sees Off Pospisil to Qualify
Marius Copil won two qualifying matches over the weekend to secure his place in the main draw of the inaugural Tel Aviv Open. The Romanian World No. 350 was pushed to the limits in both matches but held his nerve to reach the main draw of an ATP tournament for the first time since 2019.
Copil who has been ranked as high as No. 56 won a tight encounter against Pospisil despite his shirt-lived momentary lapse in concentration towards the end of the first set.
The 31-year-old was broken while serving for the first set, but as fate would have it, he broke back straightaway and made amends at the second time of asking.
Pospisil endured one of his worst serving displays of the season, punctuated by a series of double faults throughout the match. And Posipisil needed just a single break of serve in the second set to round off the win.
Rinderknech v Copil Prediction and Tip
In as much as Copil showed incredible tenacity and mental strength to qualify, Rinderknech will be tough to put away. The Frenchman is as solid as they come and is definitely a major upgrade to the level of competition Copil faced in the qualifiers.
