Marin Cilic v Liam Broady Head to Head
They played once before and it was this year at Queen’s Club. Cilic won in three sets.

Marin Cilic faced quite the challenge in the previous round as it was Dominic Thiem and a very good one at that. The Austrian played one of the best matches in recent memory and but Cilic proved better. The Austrian certainly had a chance to win the match and was up a set but in the end, Cilic proved better.
The Croatian won the match by being more aggressive and daring in the match. He went for the winners more and it worked. Being the better server overall is also a benefit, especially indoors. The Croatian will look to keep that going against Broady as the Brit is playing super solid tennis.
Nobody expected him to play against Broady but rather another player but here we are. Their match at Queen’s this year was very competitive and it was a typical Cilic performance. A superb being then a drop in level midway through but a win in the end.
I expect something similar here.

4-Match Win Streak for Broady
Liam Broady has now won four matches in a row and that is something that hasn’t happened this year before. It’s been a good year overall for Broady but he certainly can do much better. Occasionally he flashes like this week but winning this one will be very tough.
He dropped a few sets this week already and so has Cilic. Their most recent clash was on grass in Queen’s and we saw three sets in this one and I expect to see three sets here. It’s more so that Cilic allows his opponents to stay in the match and Broady is good enough to take advantage of that.
The Brit has always been a very good indoor player and his lefty certainly helps him with that. It’s hard to predict how it will go as Cilic is the heavy favourite but I do think the Brit can keep it close, especially after his performances this week.
Cilic v Broady Prediction and Tip
So this is a very interesting one as there are several things you could look at here. Cilic is heavily favoured and betting him to win the match offers little value. One thing to consider is the possibility of three sets and Broady keeping it close.
I do think both are solid but recommended taking the over.
