Denis Shapovalov v Steve Johnson Head to Head
Their only previous meeting came at the 2019 Indian Wells Masters where Shapovalov had managed to register a straight-set win over Johnson.

Shapovalov Coming off Strong Seoul Showing
Shapovalov is a former top-10 player but rather surprisingly, he has won just one ATP title in his career. That had come in 2019.
And he came close to making it his second when he reached the final of the Korea Open last week after registering straight-set wins over Jaume Munar, Radu Albot and Jenson Brooksby.
Unfortunately for the Canadian player, Yoshihito Nishioka did not let go of the strong form that he finds himself in and carved out a 6-4, 7-6 (5) win over Shapovalov.
Still, the world number 22 will enter this tournament knowing he can push on from where he left off, especially after having made the third round at US Open as well. His first round opponent isn’t the most challenging either which should help.

Johnson Broke Three-Match Losing Streak in Seoul
Johnson’s form has improved off late and while it might be ever so slightly, it does mean his opponent cannot take this match lightly.
Before Wimbledon this season, Johnson had a win-loss record of 8-8 in main draws of ATP competitions but he had also failed to qualify for four other tournaments he had participated in.
After that, it went up to 7-4 before he went through another run of three defeats in a row. That streak was finally broken at the Korea Open last week when Johnson defeated Ji Sung Nam in the first round.
And while he went down to Albot in the second, it could have been anybody’s game what with the American losing in two tie-breakers. Can he now put up a fight against Shapovalov?
Shapovalov v Johnson Prediction and Tip
Shapovalov is 1/4 to win this and we think this will be a cruise for him except for the fact that one needs to see if he can hold up to playing back to back tournaments. Johnson could put up a fight in one of the sets.
Tip: Shapovalov to win in straight sets: 3/5 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
