Kyrgios Back on Court after US Open

Given how the things had gone in the season’s final major, Kyrgios would have considered he had a golden chance to win a Slam or at least go farther than the quarterfinal exit he endured at the US Open.

In a match where Kyrgios was 1/4 to win it against Karen Khachanov, the Aussie fell to a five-set defeat. And while Kyrgios has always been a firebrand, that loss would have really hurt given the aforementioned context.

Kyrgios had won the Washington Open title and was a quarterfinalist at Montreal in the lead-up to the US Open and later defeated Daniil Medvedev in the tournament as well.

Since then, Kyrgios hasn’t taken to court for a competitive match but while rustiness could be a factor, he is also up against a player who has never been ranked better than 83rd in the world.

Tseng Has Won Three Main Draw Matches This Season

With just three main draw match wins and two others in the Davis Cup, Tseng might not be the most potent opponent here. What Tseng would hope is for him to show the kind of fight he did in Seoul last week in both his matches.

In the first round, Tseng had gone in as a second favourite but scooped up the first set against Australia’s Christopher O’Connell before his opponent retired from the encounter.

Tseng was a favourite in the second round but Aleksandra Kovacevic got the better of him in a gruelling three-setter.

And while Tseng lost, there were those indications that he isn’t one to be taken for granted giving his fighting qualities.

Kyrgios v Tseng Prediction and Tip

Kyrgios will be a huge favourite here but we could see bit of a fight from Tseng. Will that be enough for him to earn a set though? We don’t think so.

Tip: Kyrgios to win in straight sets: 1/3 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
