Claire Liu v Ana Konjuh Head to Head
Liu won their only meeting at Wimbledon in 2018.

Liu is 14-12 on Hard Courts This Year
It’s been an up-and-down year for Claire Liu, but the highlight of her season so far was her maiden appearance in a WTA final in Rabat.
She missed out on the WTA250 title on clay, but made an impression in that tournament. What was even more impressive was the fact that she reached that final a week after wining her maiden WTA125 title also on clay.
But the focus now is on hard courts and how good has she been on hard? She has an overall record of 12-14 on the surface. She had made it to the quarterfinals in Tokyo, but went down in the opening round in Tallinn.
That performance in Tokyo remains her best on the surface. Can she match or better that this week?

Konjuh Comes Through Qualifiers
Ana Konjuh has qualified for the main draw in Monstir after scoring back-to-back straight set wins in the qualifying rounds.
The 24-year-old Croatian defeated Priska Madelyn Nugroho in straight sets and followed that up with another straight sets win over Viktória Kužmová in the second qualifying round on Sunday.
Konjuh, who had begun the year as World No. 67, has seen a sharp decline in the rankings and is currently placed at No. 143 in the world.
It’s been a tough season for Konjuh, who last won a tour-level first round match in Doha in February. She was good at the start of the year, reaching back-to-back quarterfinals in Melbourne and Adelaide-2 and making it to the second rounds at the Australian open and in Doha. But she either didn’t make the main draws following that or lost in the opening rounds.
Most recently she failed to qualify in Portoroz. Having qualified in Monastir, can she end her first round losing streak?
Liu v Konjuh Prediction and Tip
Liu is the favourite in this contest. Expect the American to breeze past the qualifier in straight sets.
