Papamichail Knocks Out Mladenovic to Qualify
Despina Papamichail bounced back from a set down to beat Kristina Mladenovic in the second qualifying round on Sunday to reach the main draw in Tunisia.
This will be her sixth main draw appearance this year, she brings a 2-5 record into the tournament.
The Greek is 29-32 overall. Clay has been the most productive surface for her and she is 19-18 on the surface. On hard courts, she is 8-11 across levels in 2022.
The 29-year-old world no. 178 had won the first qualifying round against Inès Ibbou in straight sets. Papamichail most recently featured in Tokyo, where she came through qualifiers and won the first round match, before going down in the second round.
