Coric Brings A Game Out against Kokkinakis

Sure he was stretched a little but Coric still managed to carve out a straight-set win in his first round encounter against Australia’s Thanasi Kokkinakis.

In a match lasting a shade over two hours, Coric clinched a 6-4, 7-6 (4) win over Kokkinakis, with just one break of serve separating the two players.

Coric faced just one break-point and saved it easily while getting himself a crucial break in the third game of the first set. The second set went to serve before Coric overcame a 0-2 deficit in the tie-breaker to win it 7-4.

A winner at the Cincinnati Masters earlier this year, Coric will now hope he can face up to a bigger second round challenge and come out triumphant.

Nakashima Makes it Six Wins in a Row

Close on the heels of winning his first ever ATP title, Nakashima made it six match wins in a row as he overcame the Japanese wildcard entrant Shintaro Mochizuki in his opener here.

Nakashima, who lived up to his oft-spoken talent by lifting the San Diego Open trophy a week or so ago, was on court for an hour and seven minutes as he demolished Mochizuki 6-3, 6-2.

The American endured no challenge on his serve, as he won 36 of those 45 points without facing a break-point while breaking his opponent three times.

Having lost just one set in his last six matches, Nakashima will enter this match against Coric full of confidence but will also realise it could be one of his toughest tests of recent times.

Coric v Nakashima Prediction and Tip
