Madison Keys v Ellen Perez Head to Head
Keys and Perez have never faced off before this.

Keys on a Three-Match Losing Streak
Every now and then this season, Keys has shown she is still a huge force to reckon with.
A title win in Adelaide earlier this season, a semifinal at the Australian Open, a quarterfinal in Indian Wells and a semifinal at the Cincinnati Open have all been a part of her performances for 2022 and that has kept her in the top 20 of the WTA Rankings.
At the same time, however, Keys has struggled to get going in some of the other tournaments.
Take, for example, this very competition in which she enters on the back of three successive defeats. Keys had lost in the third round of the US Open to Cori Gauff and then fell in her openers at Tallinn and Ostrava.
Against a player ranked 348th in the world, however, Keys should be able to break that rut.

Perez Benefits from Kalinskaya Injury
After winning her first qualifier in San Diego, Perez was a whopping 5/1 underdog against Anna Kalinskaya in her second qualifying round.
But only five games into the encounter, Kalinskaya retired from the match, leaving Perez with a rare main draw appearance opportunity in a WTA event.
Because before this, Perez had featured in just two such matches for the season and lost at both. Making it more troubling for Perez is her record on the lower circuit this season hasn’t been the best either. She has won just seven main draw matches all year at the ITF level.
What can she now do against a player of the calibre of Keys? Her best hope is for a fighting showing and for Keys to implode.
Keys v Perez Prediction and Tip
Keys should have no trouble getting past Perez and a straight-set win can be expected for the world number 17.
Tip: Keys to win in straight sets: 1/5 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
