Bautista Agut v Korda Head to Head
Their only previous meeting came at the 2021 Halle Open where Korda had beaten Bautista-Agut in straight sets.

Bautista Agut enters this tournament in Gijon on the back of a few mixed results and a first round bye.
The Spaniard, who was once ranked ninth in the world but has today slipped down to 22nd, has already won a couple of titles this season – at Doha on hardcourts and in Kitzbuhel on clay.
There has been a grass court competition final in Mallorca to go with that too.
On the other hand, Bautista Agut was ousted in the first round at the US Open which would have been a body blow. He followed that up with a shock win over Felix Auger-Aliassime in round one at Astana but then won just two games in his quarterfinal rout at the hands of Daniil Medvedev.
Bautista Agut will hope for a more consistent ending to the season.

Korda Tames Munar in Round One
Korda hardly broke into a sweat as he overcame a former Next Gen Finals player Jaume Munar in the first round of the Gijon Open.
The American was on court for an hour and a half as he carved out a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Munar. He faced no break-points while taking advantage of four of the nine he got from Munar.
A tight fifth game of the first set was the opening that Korda needed and once he had packed off the lead, there was no looking back for him. Three more service breaks followed in the second set as Korda made it another straight-set win.
Over the last six matches now, four of which he has won, Korda has been involved in two sets each time.
