Aryna Sabalenka v Donna Vekic Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings in the main draw of events and both players have won one apiece – including one in the Olympics last year.
There have been three other matches, including two in the qualifying rounds of WTA competitions and one on the ITF level between 2016 and 2017 and Vekic had won them all.

In a match lasting two hours and two minutes, Sabalenka needed three sets to overcome Sloane Stephens and book her quarterfinal berth.
Having received a first round bye, Sabalenka was sent packing in the first set with Stephens conjuring four breaks of serves and a 6-1 scoreline in her favour. The Belarusian player, however, clawed back to win the remaining two and the match 1-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Sabalenka, who was returning to player her first match since having made the US Open semifinal where she had gone down fighting to Iga Swiatek, earned five breaks of serves spread over the last two sets while holding her own in all but one game.
She now faces an opponent who has beaten her in the past – and multiple times at that – but one who has struggled all of this season otherwise.

Vekic Makes it Successive Wins Again
Once a top-20 player, Vekic had fallen to 112th in the world earlier this season but has shown a steady rise in both, the rankings and her performances.
And for the second tournament in a row, the Croat has won successive rounds to enter the quarterfinals. What makes this one even more impressive than her previous such showing in Tallinn is the opponents against which these wins have come.
Vekic, who made it through the qualifiers to enter the main draw here, sent Maria Sakkari packing 7-6 (3), 6-1 in the first round but then made it two upsets in a row when she registered an equally easy win against Karolina Pliskova.
She dispatched Pliskova 6-3, 6-2 in an hour and 15 minutes to clinch a place in the last eight.
