Andrey Rublev v Dominic Thiem

A very interesting match will be played in Gijon between Andrey Rublev and Domonic Thiem. They played a total of seven times in the past with Rublev leading 4-3. Their most recent match was played over two years ago and it was won by Rublev.

Much has changed for both players since then with Rublev improving quite a bit since then and Thiem dealing with all sorts of injuries. The Austrian has played well this week winning a couple of notable matches but Rublev has looked far better.

There is no question that the Russian is the better player at the moment and is playing in better form. He is also the better indoor player overall and probably has the higher ceiling but generally, the Russian has had a lot of success indoors against Thiem.

I think that continues here.

Tip: Rublev to win in straight sets: 1/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Auger-Aliassime v Lorenzo Musetti

A very interesting matchup is waiting in Florence as Auger-Aliassime will have to take on the super-talented Musetti and the Italian crowd. The atmosphere should be good and Musetti will have a lot to fancy in this matchup as he leads it 2-1.

All three of their matches were played on clay and Musetti won the most recent two including one this year in Monte-Carlo. The Canadian played really badly on clay this year but he is doing rather well at the moment and he is heavily favoured here. It’s hard to say whether he will cruise in this one because Musetti is looking strong.

The court is a bit slower and that works in the Italian’s favour but Auger-Aliassime is serving so well that it’s going to be very hard for Musetti to get it done. I do think Auger should prevail and I’ll tip him to do it in two sets because he is looking too strong right now.

Tip: Auger-Aliassime to win in straight sets: 11/10 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)

Sebastian Korda v Arthur Rinderknech

Sebastian Korda played a very interesting match against Murray winning in three sets. Rinderknech did even better against Gijon native Pablo Carreno Busta winning the match in the final set tiebreak that finsihed 18-16. He saved nine match points in the match to take it which is crazy.

Overall it should be a close matchup as their last one was one close one as well. Three sets could very well happen with a tiebreak pretty much guaranteed. Korda is favoured to win this one but it won’t be that simple. He showed against Murray that he can peak at a high level but also completely lose the compass for a good portion of the match.

Rinderknech has a deadly serve when it’s working and it’s certainly working this year. The French player is tough to deal with indoors and I do think Korda will have some struggles. Due to that, I think backing the over is the smartest play because I just don’t trust either very much.
