Geerts Hasn’t Done Much in Recent Times
He is ranked 267th in the world and a wild-card entrant in this tournament but Geerts will need to do a lot more than what he has in recent times if he needs to challenge Thiem.
Because following a Futures tennis victory earlier this season, Geerts hasn’t done much of note even at the Futures or Challenger level.
In fact, Geerts enters this tournament on the back of five Challenger tournaments, Geerts bas won just one main draw match.
The difference in the pedigree of these two players is rather stark but what Geerts can get out of the encounter will be an interesting watch. As far as the result of the match is concerned, his win hardly seems likely.
