Alex de Minaur is hoping to finish off this season in strong fashion but he faces a very tricky challenge in round one of the Stockholm Open. They played fairly recently and it was a tough match for de Minaur that he won but ideally, you would hope for an easier match in the first round.
He last played in Tokyo where he had a very short stay as he was beaten by Kwon in round one. A strange turn of results because he played really well at the Laver Cup a few days before that. His year overall has been very good, a trophy some good wins and an overall record of 40-21.
He’s always been a very solid player indoors thanks to his ability to track down the ball and especially so with the courts slowing down considerably over the past few years. He can serve well and all of that works well for him if he plays his best.

Bonzi Looking for Revenge
Alex de Minaur bested Bonzi a few weeks ago in the Davis Cup and it was a painful defeat for the French player but he has now a chance to get his revenge. He will certainly be up for it as he is a true competitor with a strong baseline game and very solid volleys.
His serve can be hit-and-miss but he will need it to be a hit if he hopes to win this one. At the very least he will make it competitive as their Davis Cup match was finishing in three sets. A super solid year for him with a 36-26 record, the former challenger player showed he belongs on the ATP Tour.
It’s been somewhat of a struggle lately with a lot of defeats and his overall score took a hit as well but don’t expect him to fold here easily. He will ready to go and if he catches fire with his serve this will be a long day for de Minaur.

This should be fairly competitive. It’s hard to tell whether we’ll see three sets or not but the over on games should be a no-brainer.
