Magdalena Frech v Yulia Putintseva Head to Head
While they haven’t faced off in the main draw of a WTA event before this, the two did play in the qualifiers of the WTA Dubai that was held earlier this year. It was Putintseva had come through in as easy a manner as she could have, dropping just three games in the encounter.

Frech Easily Comes Through the Qualifiers
Frech hasn’t had the best of seasons in 2022 with just 10 main draw wins in WTA 250 (or higher) tournaments and that has also meant her ranking has taken a dip.
Having seen a season-high rank of 82nd in the world, Frech has dropped to 128th at the moment as a result of the aforementioned results. It would take more of the kind of results that were on show during the qualifiers to turn things around for the Polish player.
The good news is her performance in the qualifiers here saw her dismantle both her opponents with relative ease.
Frech first overcome Anna Dalinina 7-5, 6-3 before sending Danielle Lao packing in the second qualifier for the loss of only six games.
And while she now faces an opponent who is ranked quite high on the charts, Frech will think she has a chance to put up a fight.

Putintseva in Bit of a Rut
While Putintseva has put up bit of a show at times this season, it might not go down as one of the best of her career. And her performances in more recent times can explain why.
Since making the quarterfinal of the Toronto Open as a part of the US Open Series, Putintseva has barely won a match.
In fact, she took a month-plus long break after the US Open but found herself at the losing end of a San Diego qualifier match. Previously, she had lost four of the five matches Putintseva had played in before taking that break.
Here she comes up against a player she has beaten earlier this year and also one who hasn’t been in any kind of form herself. The question is whether Putintseva can take advantage of that and her better pedigree to pull through.
Frech v Putintseva Prediction and Tip
Won’t be an easy one for Putintseva but we think she will still find a way to win this. Might take three sets though.
Tip: Putintseva to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
