Stefanos Tsitsipas v Maxime Cressy Head to Head
Their only previous meeting came at the 2020 US Open where Tsitsipas had won in straight sets to proceed to the third round.

A shock first round defeat at the US Open did not seem to have deterred Tsitsipas too much as he returned to the business of matches in the manner he usually does.
For starters, the Greek number one put it across both his Davis Cup opponents and then eased past Diego Schwartzman at the Laver Cup. A fighting three-setter against Frances Tiafoe in that very tournament went against him but he followed it up with a brilliant showing in Astana.
With wins over Hubert Hurkacz and Andrey Rublev there, Tsitsipas reached the final where he was found a tad wanting against Novak Djokovic. And yet, he can be terribly proud of the manner in which he got there in the first place.
Now, after a week’s break, Tsitsipas is all set to resume his campaign at the highest level as he looks to cement his place in the ATP Finals.

Cressy Stuns Ivashka
It hasn’t been a great time on court for Cressy and as a result of that, he wasn’t quite the favourite coming into his first round match against Ilya Ivashka.
At 29/20 at the start of the opener, Cressy looked like a defeat looked a foregone conclusion when he fell a set behind and was 4-2 down in the second set tie-breaker to Ivashka.
It was here his fighting capabilities came to the fore as Cressy turned things around and won 4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4 to reach the second round in two hours and 38 minutes of the encounter.
That win came after a three-match losing streak, with Cressy having also entered this tournament on the back of just one victory from his previous six matches.
