Hubert Hurkacz v Dominic Thiem
A very interesting match will be played in the Antwerp Open quarter-final as we have Hurkacz taking on Thiem. The Polish player played a very fair match on Wednesday to advance and he’ll face Thiem who also had a solid win but one day later.
Hurkacz will be fresher here and he’s played far less than Thiem recently which could factor in this match as well. He also leads Thiem 3-0 which is something to remember as all three of their matches came on hard courts. One was recently in Metz and Hurkacz won in straight sets.
The Polish player is favoured once more and he should be. At this point in time, he is the better player and is playing in better form. Indoors suit him a bit more because his serve can be really hard to counter once he gets rolling and he seems very comfortable in Antwerp.
Tip: Hurkacz to win in two sets: 6/5 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
Alex de Minaur v Denis Shapovalov
Another interesting matchup will happen in Stock as last year’s finalist Denis Shapovalov plays Alex de Minaur. It’s a very fascinating matchup between two players who play somewhat differently. Both are really good on hard courts and both can do well indoors.
A lot will depend on how Shapovalov serves as he does have the better serve overall. Stockholm was very good for him last week so it will be very interesting to see how he handles it this year. de Minaur leads the matchup 3-1 having won the only match they played this year in Montreal.
None of their matches were played indoors and it will really come down to how Shapovalov plays. He’s been okay lately as is de Minaur but overall the Australian has had the better season. He’s slightly favoured and he can certainly frustrate Shapovalov into errors.
Hard to call but the over is a solid bet.
Tip: Over 21,5: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
Cameron Norrie v Holger Rune
Another Stockholm quarterfinal will bring us two very different players together. Holger Rune is the typical upcoming tennis player who likes to play attacking tennis and does it often. Norrie is a bit more nuanced without many clear attacking options but is very physical and can play long rallies.
They clashed before and Norrie won all three of their matches. There is just something in this matchup that annoys Rune as he lost at the US Open quite easily to Norrie recnetly. He also dropped the Lyon Open final and that match was on clay.
Rune doesn’t posses the consistency needed to break down Norrie as he gets many balls back and the Danish player is very hot headed. That’s something he will need to work on but he does have a very good serve capable of making this interesting. Norrie should win but the over sounds like a better value.
Tip: Over 21,5 games: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
