Matteo Berrettini v Taro Daniel Head to Head
This will be their fourth meeting, but a first on hard courts.
Daniel won their first meeting in Istanbul in 2018, but the Italian won their next two, beating the Japanese in Belgrade and Roland Garros last year.

Berrettini Overcomes Last Week’s Setback, Cruises to Last 8
Eight days after suffering a shock defeat to Roberto Carballes Baena in Florence, Matteo Berrettini avenged his defeat to the Spaniard with a straight sets second round win in Naples.
The Italian, who lost a close three-setter in Florence, looked much more comfortable in Naples as he eased past Carballes Baena 6-4, 6-2. The world no. 16 wasn’t broken match and faced just one break point in the entire one hour and 30 minute contest. He himself held five breaking opportunities and he capitalised on three of them.
Despite this being a stop-start season for Berrettini, who suffered a hand injury in the first quarter and missed Wimbledon due to COVID, he has produced some brilliant results. Berrettini was a semifinalist at the Australian Open and a quarterfinalist at the U.S. Open and reached three finals in a row, winning back-to-back titles on grass in Stuttgart and Queen’s and finishing runner-up on clay in Gstaad.
He had come into the tournament with an 8-2 record from his last 10 matches, but that included a shock round of 16 defeat last week. He seems to be over it now. Can he march into a fifth semifinal of the season on Friday?

Daniel Edges Past Cachin
Taro Daniel moved into a second tour-level quarterfinal of the season after edging out Pedro Cachín in the Round of 16 on Thursday.
Ranked no. 95th in the world, Daniel had earlier made it to the last eight in Belgrade. He had come into the tournament in poor form, having won just two main draw matches in his last six tournaments.
However, that poor run has ended in Naples, where the 29-year-old has earned back-to-back wins. First he ousted Pedro Martínez 6-3, 6-3 in the opening round, and then he knocked out Cachin 6-4, 7-6 (7-2) in an hour and 55 minute contest.
Daniel won 77% points on the back of his first delivery. He converted all three of the break points that he held in the match and saved 1 of 3 that he faced.
Daniel improved his season record to 42-27 from all levels. But plenty of those wins have come in qualifying rounds and even at the lower level he has reached just one quarterfinal. Can he reach a third quarterfinal of the season on Friday?
Berrettini v Daniel Prediction and Tip
Berrettini is a far better player and also has been in top form throughout the season. This should be a lop-sided contest with the Italian advancing.
Tip: Berrettini to win in straight sets: 1/2 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
