Dominic Thiem v Sebastian Korda
A very fascinating matchup in Antwerp will be contested between Sebastian Korda and Dominic Thiem. Both of them played amazing matches to get into the semi-final with Korda being in really strong for the second consecutive week. He is also doing rather well physically after playing in the final in Gijon last week.
There are no signs of fatigue but he faced a tough challenge here. Dominic Thiem played his best match in a very long time to defeat a solid Hubert Hurkacz in Antwerp. It was a comeback win for Thiem who dominated from the baseline hitting well over 30 winners en route to the win.
He also served more consistently and that’s exactly the type of effort he needs to win this match as Korda will certainly bring some good tennis as well. I do think that Thiem has a very good chance to win this one despite not being the favourite. I think that he’s more physically tough than Korda and will outlast him in a long match.
Tip: Thiem to win the match: 6/5 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
Alex de Minaur v Holger Rune
Alex de Minaur has a chance to book a final here against a player who will struggle against him. Holger Rune plays very aggressive tennis and goes for winners in most rallies. The Danish player won’t stray away from that style and it works well in places like Stockholm.
What could give him problems is a certain Speed Demon who catches pretty much every ball. It’s very hard to win winners against de Minaur who gets so many balls back and can counter-punch really well. It’s been a good year for both but de Minaur found a very consistent level that rarely betrays him.
He can have bad days but looks rather comfortable in Stockholm so I do think him being favoured is the right call. Rune will have chances but he will need to be at his best. It is a close one for sure but I simply think de MInaur is a bit more stable this week.
Tip: de Minaur to win the match: 4/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
Lorenzo Musetti v Miomir Kecmanovic
Another interesting match is the one between Musetti and Kecmanovic. Both of these players have done really well so far in Napoli despite everything that went on. Musetti destroyed Galan in the quarter-final allowing him only 3 games in a 6-3 6-0 finish with Kecmanovic being equally impressive against Carreno Busta 7-5 6-2.
Kecmanovic has been slowly building up his form again and he looks really close to his level earlier this year. That was a legitimate top-20 level with Musetti playing on a similar level as well. It will be their first match so Musetti might have the edge a bit due to a more diverse playstyle.
He’s also playing at home but it’s on hard court which favours Kecmanovic more. I could see either of them winning this one but it’s really hard to pick a side. Kecmanovic is better overall but Musetti has a higher ceiling and will probably end up as the better player. Take the over to keep it safe.
