Nakashima won their only meeting in Washington last year.

Evans In Decent Form

After being inconsistent at the start of the season, Daniel Evans has been able to raise his level in the last three months and he is finishing the season with decent numbers.

Since the start of the American swing in August he has a 16-10 record and that has included runs to the semifinals in Montreal and San Diego and quarterfinal finishes in Washington, Antwerp and Vienna. The last two came in back-to-back tournaments this month.

The 32-year-old has won one Challenger event this year, on grass in Nottingham. He has not reached a tour-level final this season, but has made it to three semifinals, including the one in Sydney at the start of the season.

Ranked no 26, Evans will be making his third Paris Masters appearance, but is yet to win a match in the tournament. At the ATP 1000 events, he has reached the semifinal stage twice, and one of those was this year at the Canadian Open. He will be hoping to get his first win in Paris and then build from there on.

Nakashima On Paris Debut

Like Evans, Brandon Nakashima, too, has produced decent results over the last couple of months. But while the Briton is yet to reach a final this year, Nakashima has already reached one and also picked up his maiden title.

That success came in San Diego last month when he beat Marcos Giron to be crowned the champion. Since then, his best has been a run to the last eight in Florence.

This week in Basel, he got a first round win over David Goffin, but fell in round 2 to San Wawrinka.

Nakashima has an overall record of 36-25 this season and that includes a title plus six quarterfinal finishes. This will be the first time he will be playing at the Paris Masters. The 21-year-old’s record in ATP 1000 tournaments hasn’t been impressive so far.

He has won just three of his previous ATP 1000 matches and is yet to go past the second round. Can he make an impressive debut in Paris?

Evans v Nakashima Prediction and Tip

Dan Evans will hold slight edge over the American. He is got the experience, particularly of playing in big tournaments like these, and is also in decent form. He should get his first win in Paris Matsers.
