Lorenzo Musetti v Nikoloz Basilashvili Head to Head
Their only previous meeting came at the 2022 Stuttgart Open with Basilashvili winning in straight sets to make the second round.

In a match that lasted an hour and 22 minutes, Musetti got the better of the 17th-ranked Marin Cilic to make it through to the second round.
Having won his second career title late last month in Napoli, Musetti had then fallen in the first round at the ATP Basel which followed which meant he was starting off 6/4 underdog to win the encounter against the Croat.
Musetti faced a couple of break-points in the match, saving both of them but when he got his two chances to do the same, the Italian managed to grab both of them. A break in each of the sets was enough to help Musetti claim the win.
And now up against a player ranked outside the top 100, things could get even easier for the Italian.

Basilashvili Finally Wins One
Such has been Basilashvili’s form, not too many were giving him too much of a chance against Quentin Halys in his opener. He was a whopping 3/1 second favourite to win it and to then do that in straight sets was definitely a surprise result.
This stems from the fact Basilashvili had lost eight of his last nine matches including defeats to the likes of Fernando Verdasco, Thiago Monteiro, Mackenzie McDonald and Hugo Gaston.
Basilashvili rolled into the second round after having had an off-court victory of another kind – having been acquitted of domestic violence charges in a Georgian court.
