Jiri Lehecka v Francesco Passaro
Jiri Lehecka has been one of the better younger players this year which earned him the qualification for this event. Passaro was also very good but he only got into the event after Holger Rune retired.
Overall, Lehecka is the better player because he’s proven himself more against some of the better players.
He’s also far more experienced indoors and has a better serve overall which should help him win this match. Passaro will be playing at home and he does really well on native soil but he only played three matches indoors this year. He did play 18 matches on hard courts and he did rather well 12-6.
I do expect a close one but I don’t see the Czech player dropping this one. They never played so it might go the distance as the event features a specific final where sets are played till four but the match is best of five sets. Lehecka could take all five to get it done but I feel he will get it done.
Tip: Lehecka to win in four or five sets: 3/1 or 5/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
Lorenzo Musetti v Chun-Hsin Tseng
Another interesting matchup that will feature another Italian will be between Tseng and Musetti. The Italian has been playing some really strong tennis in the past few weeks and he’s considered the heavy favourite in this one, especially because it’s in Milan.
Musetti played at the event last year as well but he didn’t do so well losing all three matches he played. Tseng is another solid player that broke into the top 100 this year but his main strength are clay courts. He’s okay on hard courts but not as good as Musetti.
Tseng did not play a single indoor match this year but has a solid 16-11 record for his career. I don’t think he’ll be able to stay with Musetti in this one but he might surprise. The format is a tricky one with many tiebreaks played so maybe he can do some damage there. I don’t see it personally so I’ll back Musetti in three.
Tip: Musetti to win in straight sets: 11/10 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
Jack Draper v Dominic Stricker
Another solid matchup is that between Draper and Stricker two lefty players with very powerful serves. Draper is the far better player as he established himself in a major way this year, far more than Stricker. The Swiss is pretty good too so underestimating him would be a mistake.
Both are really strong indoor players as well with Stricker having a 19-8 record and Draper having a 24-5 record. Due to his record and the way he played recently, Draper is widely considered a favourite to win this match and I agree with that.
I do think he will win but I’m not sure whether he’ll be able to win in three. I do think Stricker will be able to pull out one set so for me the value is in playing over 3,5 sets. The odd is solid, there is a high chance of it going through and I don’t think Draper will hold focus for a straight-sets victory.
Tip: Over 3,5 sets in the match: 4/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
