Monfils has done well this week in beating David Goffin, Andrea Seppi, and Damir Dzumhur relatively comfortably, getting to the semi finals. His most satisfying win was against Daniil Medvedev, who beat him last week in Sofia, and has been in some of his best form. It was a tight semi-final with change of control continuously, with Monfils winning eventually in three sets.
With supreme athleticism and a powerful forehand, Monfils is not an easy customer for any opponent.
