Unlike most of the other tournaments on the ATP and WTA tours, the prize money on offer for the 2023 United Cup isn’t a straightforward figure. It will depend on a combination of a few factors and we have tried to explain the same below with a couple of examples.
Total Prize Money on Offer at the United Cup 2023
The total prize money on offer at the 2023 United Cup is a whopping $15 million with half of it earmarked for the ATP Tour and the other half for the players participating on the WTA Tour.
This prize money includes participating fee and prize money and how much a player can earn depends on various factors which have been defined below.

Factors on Which a Player Can Earn Prize Money
Players at the 2023 United Cup can earn their pay-cheques from three different components. These three factors include the following:
- Participating Fee
- Match Wins Prize Money
- Team Wins Prize Money
Essentially every player is guaranteed a basic sum of money for participating in the tournament and this is dependent on his/her ATP/WTA Ranking.
The other two factors on which a player’s earning capability depends is his/her performance in the tournament to go with how well the player’s team has done in the 2023 United Cup.
In the section below we look at how much a player can earn at the 2023 United Cup.
How Much Prize Money Can a Player Earn from the United Cup 2023?
As mentioned earlier, three factors decide how much a player can earn from the 2023 United Cup.
Participating Fee
The first of these are participation fees which are further dependent on the player ranking in the team and on the ATP and WTA Rankings.
Singles Ranking | Number One Player | Number Two Player |
---|---|---|
1-10 | $200,000 | $200,000 |
11-20 | $100,000 | $100,000 |
21-30 | $60,000 | $50,000 |
31-50 | $40,000 | $30,000 |
51-100 | $30,000 | $20,000 |
101-250 | $25,000 | $15,000 |
251+ | $20,000 | $10,000 |
Singles Ranking | Number Three Player | Number Four Player |
---|---|---|
1-30 | $30,000 | $10,000 |
31-100 | $15,000 | $7,500 |
101-250 | $7,500 | $6,000 |
251+ | $6,000 | $5,000 |
A player designated as the number one player on the team might, for example, earn differently from the player who is designated as the number two player even though the first player is ranked lower than the second.
Similarly, players designated as third and fourth ranked players in the team earn different prize money as shown in the table above.
Match Wins Prize Money
Depending on a player’s team ranking and the stage of the competition, he/she can earn different amounts of prize money. Mentioned below is the amount earned by a player in singles and mixed doubles of the 2023 United Cup.
