Pervolarakis’ Never Seen the Top-350

While Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari have put Greece on the tennis map with their sterling performances, there are others like Pervolarakis who haven’t had much going their way.

The 26-year-old has been around for a while, but his successes have been restricted to the Futures tour, with the odd sparkle shown on the Challenger circuit.

In 2022, Pervolarakis won a Futures title – the third of his career – but since doing that, his form waned. In fact, in the 15 tournaments that followed after that Futures triumph, Pervolarakis won just one main draw match, failing to qualify at a few of them and losing his openers even when he did.

As a result of that, Pervolarakis ended the season ranked outside the top-500 and will hope to claw his way back this year with somewhat of a better showing.

With the kind of team Greece has, they have a good chance of progressing to the next stage and with that, offering Pervolarakis a chance to play more. Can he win the odd one here?

Kuzmanov Hoping to Build on 2022 Showing

2022 was the season in which Kuzmanov hit his career-best ranking of 158th on the ATP charts but then faded away slightly to finish the season just inside the top-200.

Kuzmanov did end the year with a quarterfinal appearance at the Helsinki Challenger, having also finished a quarterfinalist at the Alicante Challenger in October.

In more recent years, however, the Bulgarian hasn’t paid a lot of attention to hard court competitions with the focus being solely on clay. This is despite having won three hard court competitions on the Futures circuit in 2018 and 2019.

Which is why despite being ranked way higher than his opponent in this encounter it would be interesting to see whether Kuzmanov can hold his end of the bargain anyway. Could be in for an interesting tie this.

Pervolarakis v Kuzmanov Prediction and Tip

While Kuzmanov starts off a 6/25 favourite, we reckon these two players are a lot closer than what those odds represent. Expect Pervolarakis to put up a brave fight at the very least.
