Frances Tiafoe was playing a solid match against Tomas Machac when the Czech player rolled his ankle. After some debating, the youngster opted to retire from the match ending a very exciting match that was turning at the time it was interrupted.
Tiafoe won the first set with some solid play but Machac responded well in the second using a lapse in focus by Tiafoe to break him. Machac employed a very aggressive playstyle which is his signature one and which generally can hurt Taifoe when he loses focus a little bit.
The American will face a similar problem in Otte who will attack him relentlessly and if Tiafoe has one of his many lapses in focus, the match might get interesting.

Otte Overcomes Slow Start Against Svrcina
Oscar Otte started very slow against Dalibor Svrcina but overcame that slow start to squeeze out the first set in the tiebreak. It was as set that the Slovakian player deserved to win but Otte utilized his experience and aggressive tennis to turn it around.
The second set was far easier for Otte 6-2 as he was in rhythm and the forehand + serve combo was working really well. He’ll look to bring that same deadly combination to his match against Tiafoe because he’ll need it if he wants to win.
Tiafoe is very quick around the court so Otte will need to attack in order to keep the points short. Longer rallies don’t benefit him at all so expect Otte to post a lot of winners and a lot of unforced errors. The match will fall on his racquet essentially.

This is an interesting matchup because Otte can win this match and it’s not hard to see why. Tiafoe is rather vulnerable at the moment, especially if you attack him relentlessly like Otte will.
