Jordan Thompson v Quentin Halys Head to Head
While these two have never faced off in the main draw of a tournament at the highest level, there have been five other matches between them. One of those came at the qualifiers of the Mallorca Open last year while the other four were a part of the Challenger circuit.
Halys leads 4-1 but Thompson did win in Mallorca last season.

The 28-year-old Thompson has been ranked 43rd in the world at his best. He was outside the top 100 at some point last season but did well to climb up 68th on the charts.
In the end, the Aussie ended the season ranked 84th, having found a lot of his success on indoor hard courts. Thompson won a Challenger title on grass early in the season before rounding off the year with another one indoors in Columbus.
Unfortunately for him, however, there was just one ATP tournament – in Dallas early in the year – at which he won back to back matches. And prolonged early defeats on the ATP circuit left Thompson with a lot to do and he failed to maintain his ranking.
Up against a player ranked higher than him, the local lad will need all the crowd support he can muster to get through his opener.

Halys Career-Best after End of 2022 Season
He was ranked 153rd in the world in the second week of the 2022 season but a consistent showing, especially in indoor hard court competitions, was enough to help Halys not just break into the top 100 but also finish the year on a career best of 64th on the ATP charts.
What was interesting to note was Halys did not win a lot of matches at the highest level.
In fact, the 26-year-old Frenchman managed just three victories in main draws of ATP competitions, instead choosing to focus his energies at the lower, Challenger circuit.
By doing so – and performing admirably well – what Halys has done well is to earn a spot in the top 70, which in turn should help him more main draw spots on the ATP circuit.
