Despina Papamichail v Donna Vekic Head to Head
This will be their first meeting.

A win and a loss is how you could describe Papamichails efforts at the United Cup so far. She won the first match that she played here beating Isabella Shinikova 3-6 6-4 6-1. It was a huge win for her but she wasn’t able to keep up the high level in the second match.
She faced Alison van Uytvanchk and lost 5-7 6-2 3-6.
Once again it was a close match but she could not keep up the high level. She faces the toughest challenge yet in Vekic who won both of her matches. They never played before so that is a slight bonus to her as she can surprise Vekic.
I do expect her to put forward a proud effort, one where she might even push Vekic to three sets but it’s unlikely she can hold a rally against her. Certainly not multiple rallies in the span of two hours.
I just can’t see her doing that with the limited weapons that she has.

Vekic Undefeated in Perth
Donna Vekic came to Perth to play some good tennis and so far she’s achieved just that. The Croatian won both of her matches and neither was particularly close. She defeated Maria Carle 6-0 6-4 and then beat Alize Cornet as well 6-4 6-3.
Both of her matches showed a pretty high level with her signature playstyle.
The serve was doing damage and the groundstrokes were pretty strong as well. Vekic struggled over two years with her consistency but seemingly found it last year.
It continued this year so she is hopeful of returning to her peak tennis which is top 20 level at the least.
She’s favoured in this one with good reason and that’s because she played much better than Papamichail. It’s hard seeing her lose this one.
Papamichail v Vekic Prediction and Tip
Vekic is the better player who played better so far and she should win this match rather comfortably. If you’re feeling risky try the over because Papamichail might go all out in this one but I don’t see it personally.
