Petra Kvitová v Jennifer Brady Head to Head

This will be the first meeting between the two women.

Kvitová – Back to Her Best, but Given a Scare

Kvitová is fully back to the form that has seen her twice crowned Wimbledon champion, showing to herself and the world, that she is now fully recovered from the hand injury incurred in a burglary at her home in the Czech Republic, which threatened to derail her career at one stage.

She began the year by winning her 26th WTA title in Sydney, and then went all the way to the final before losing a thriller to Naomi Osaka.

She then survived the ordeal of giving evidence, by video link, in the trial of her attacker, before suffering a rare off-week in St. Petersburg two weeks ago, where she was the top seed but lost in the quarter-finals to Croatia’s Donna Vekić.

With Osaka now out of the tournament, she will be looking for her second title of the year in Dubai but here’s the deal, she is coming off a tough second round match against Katerina Siniakova. She was stretched to three sets including a tie-breaker before she finally won.

Brady – Enjoying her time in Dubai

Brady, who began the tournament ranked 117 in the world, has enjoyed her time in Dubai so far this year. To even get to the main draw, she had to beat two players, Alexandra Dulgheru of Romania, and then Slovenia’s Dalila Jakupović.

That earned her an opening round fixture against Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko, but, despite the 2017 French Open champion starting as the favourite, Brady saw her off in straight sets, 6-4, 6-0.

She then met Caroline Garcia of France, the world number 20 and, yet again, in spite of the disparity in world rankings, proved too strong for her opponent and again won in straight sets.

Kvitová is a different order of magnitude of challenge altogether, but, given her form this week, she will feel confident that she can mount a decent challenge to the current world number four.

Kvitová v Brady Predictions & Tips

Kvitová will start the match as the overwhelming favourite and should have too much for her opponent. However, Brady has already shown this week that she is no respecter of reputations and, if the Czech player has an off day, the American will be ready to take advantage.
