Alex Molcan v Quentin Halys Head to Head
These two players haven’t clashed before. This will be the first career meeting between Alex Molcan and Quentin Halys.

Molcan Loses to Djere in Pune
Alex Molcan did not have the best start to his 2023 campaign as he lost to Laslo Djere at the ATP 250 event in Pune. Molcan had gotten the better of the Serb on the clay of Marrakech last season, but their matchup on the hard courts was pretty even before the match.
But surprisingly it was Djere who was the most comfortable on the surface as he came away with a 6-2 6-4 win. He did not make any impression on the return as he failed to fashion a single break point in defeat.
The Slovak is on a dwindling run of form having lost three on the trot now dating back from the backend of last season. If you extend his record further, he has two wins in his last nine Tour-level matches.
Will the 25-year-old southpaw address that recent slide when he takes on a confident Halys?

Halys Takes Djokovic to the Limits in Adelaide
Quentin Halys gave Novak Djokovic quite possibly the hardest test at the Adelaide International in a 6-7 6-7 defeat to the Serbian star. After a shaky start to the match by Djokovic, Halys raced to a 5-2 lead and had the first set on his racket. But he was foiled in an attempt to serve for it.
Halys went on to lose the first-set tiebreak but did not drop his level. In the second set, he continued to pummel big serves and ground strokes to the extent that Djokovic praised him in the aftermath.
He saved two match points on serve deep in the second set. And although he was not broken, he went to lose another close tiebreak.
As heartbreaking as that defeat felt, Halys should be feeling confident about his game. Losing to Djokovic is not a shame and that should only give a pleasant feeling his game is definitely taking him to places.
Molcan v Halys Prediction and Tip
Molcan’s form is hardly inspiring, while Halys will take some stopping with the way he ferociously hit the ball at Djokovic in Adelaide. Expect the Frenchman to advance.
