Anastasia Potapova v Katerina Siniakova Head to Head
They played once and Siniakova advanced after a retirement by Potapova.

Anastasia Potapova started off this year by playing two qualifiers in Adelaide. She wasn’t able to get in the first time but did get in the second time despite losing the crucial match both times.
In the first week, she took on Taylor Townsend in Q1 and won in two sets.
She lost the Q2 match to Linda Noskova who ended up reaching the final at the event. Now, at the second Adelaide event she took on Dalma Galfi in Q1 and won it after retirement. She lost the Q2 match to Qinwen Zheng but got in the main draw regardless.
It’s been an up-and-down start for a player who largely plays up and down.
A superb ball-striker on her best day, Potapova struggles to maintain that high level. I don’t think she’ll have it for this match either, at least not for the ful lone.

Siniakova Cruises Through Qualifiers
Just like her opponent, Siniakova played only qualifying matches so far. At the Adelaide 1 event, Siniakova won the first match against Kamilla Rakhimova but lost the second against Claire Liu.
This week, she won both matches easily. The first one was over Alexandra Osbourne and the second one was over Ana Bogdan.
Siniakov demonstrated a lot of fighting in all of those matches which is her main strength. She won multiple matches in her career by that alone. She’s a really solid baseliner who tends to play rather consistent tennis. Her peak is not the greatest but she makes up for it with her tenacity.
This is a matchup she theoretically should win because her playstyle doesn’t suit Potapvoa at all.
A lot will depend on how either feels on that day but generally, Siniakova is the more consistent player although Potapova has far more talent.
Potapova v Siniakova Prediction and Tip
This is a very tricky one to predict because either could win. The match is on Potapova’s racquet as she has the higher peak but she’s also far more likely to produce a terrible level. I’ll back Siniakova simply because I don’t trust Potapova to get it all together.
