Danielle Collins v Jil Teichmann Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings between these players and both have won one apiece.
It was Teichmann who took the lead with a Cincinnati Open victory in 2020 but Collins pulled it back with a fighting victory in Montreal in 2021.

For the second tournament in running, Collins was drawn to play a rather tricky opponent. Last week, Collins had gone down to the Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina in round one but this time around the American found her way around Karolina Pliskova in her opener.
Collins did not spend a lot of time in dismantling the former world number one, winning 6-2, 6-4 to enter round two.
In a match lasting an hour and 17 minutes, Collins broke her opponent’s serve five times – a whopping number over two sets given that Pliskova is known to be one of the best servers in women’s tennis today.
Collins also lost her own service twice but on both occasions she was already at least a break up.

Teichmann Continues to Impress
Needing to get past two rounds of qualifiers, Teichmann overcame Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the first round of this tournament to carve out a place for herself in the round of 16.
Teichmann won 7-5, 6-4 against Pavlyuchenkova in an hour and 40 minutes with her serve helping her out of trouble on a couple of occasions. Those were the two opportunities that Pavlyuchenkova had to break Teichmann but failed to do so.
In fact, the reason why Pavlyuchenkova had only two chances was Teichmann’s solid serving which saw her win 73% of the first serves and a whopping 75% of the second serves.
In turn, Teichmann broke Pavlyuchenkova once apiece in both the sets and following on from a win over Amanda Anisimova in the qualifiers, it points to some great momentum from the Swiss player.
