Bianca Andreescu v Cristina Bucsa Head to Head

Andreescu and Bucsa have never faced off in a competitive match before this.

Andreescu Sends Bouzkova Packing

Andreescu is a former US Open winner but injuries have kept her away from the top 10 spot and even after making a return last season, her record wasn’t the best.

Coming into this year, Andreescu had needed three sets to edge out Garbine Muguruza in the Adelaide International opener but then lost to Veronika Kudermetova rather easily in the second.

As a result, at best it was an even first round contest when Andreescu took on Marie Bouzkova, a player ranked 26th in the world. The Canadian proved to be too strong for Bouzkova though, winning 6-2, 6-4 to march into the second round.

In a match lasting an hour and 42 minutes, Andreescu saved all the three break-points she faced while breaking her opponent three times.

23 winners and 14 unforced errors formed a part of her win and as she improves with more game time, one can expect those to improve too.

Bucsa Beats Fellow Qualifier

In a match between two qualifiers, Bucsa came through to the second round after defeating Eva Lys in three sets.

Bucsa won 2-6, 6-0, 6-2 in an hour and 43 minutes to seal her first ever win at the Australian Open and just second in Grand Slam tournaments. She had also made round two at the US Open last season.

After having lost her serve three times in the first set, Bucsa faced just three more break-points in the entire match and saved all of them. In turn she broke her opponent six times in the encounter.

The Spaniard had earlier crashed out of the qualifying round at the Adelaide International but is now on a four-match winning streak. Can she shock the former US Open winner here?

Andreescu v Bucsa Prediction and Tip

Andreescu is 1/6 to win this and we expect her to come through easily, and in straight sets.
