Cameron Norrie v Constant Lestienne Head to Head
At the highest level there has been one previous meeting which came at the Marseille Open of 2021 and Norrie had won that in a fighting three-setter. They had also met on the Futures circuit once before as youngsters in 2014 and Lestienne had eased past Norrie in that one.

Norrie Overcomes Slow Start against Van Assche
Luca Van Assche was in his first ever Grand Slam main draw match after having gotten himself a wildcard for the tournament for a while the 18-year-old looked to have given a good account of himself.
The world number 143 broke Norrie three times in the very first set to push it into a tie-breaker in which he went 2-0 up. Fortunately for Norrie, he found his A game from that point onward, as he won seven of the next eight points and 12 of the next 15 games to make the second round.
Norrie won 7-6 (3). 6-0, 6-3 in two hours and 24 minutes to take a step closer to his personal best at the Australian Open – a third round appearance two seasons ago.
What Norrie will hope for is an equally straightforward second round win over a player who has some solid form in recent times.

Lestienne Surprises Monteiro
There wasn’t much to choose between Lestienne and his opening opponent Thiago Monteiro but bookmakers were still giving latter the favourites odds. Lestienne had other ideas as he not just won the opener but also did that in straight sets.
In a match lasting two and a half hours, Lestienne won 6-3, 7-6 (2), 6-3 to make it to the second round of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career.
Lestienne, who had lost to Novak Djokovic in the Adelaide International opener before making it to the semifinal in Auckland, was rather clinical in his performance. He faced six break-points but did not lose his serve even once while getting himself a break of serve in the first and third set apiece.
He also kept his unforced errors down to 28 as compared to his opponent’s 42 and that’s where he edged forward.
Against Norrie, he will need to do both – hit a few more winners without letting that unforced errors figure rise up drastically.
Norrie v Lestienne Prediction and Tip
Norrie should have no problems winning this and doing that in three. Odds of 10/11 for a straight-set win for the Brit sound tempting.
