Alex de Minaur v Adrian Mannarino Head to Head
There have been three previous meetings between the duo with de Minaur having won two of them. Two of these matches came in 2022 which ended 1-1. In their first meeting, de Minaur had defeated Mannarino in the final of Zhuhai Open.

de Minaur Makes Short Work of Hsu
Yu Hsiou Hsu has never been ranked better than 208th in the world but the Chinese player had shown great resilience in getting past the qualifying stage and moving into the main draw of the Australian Open for the first time. In fact it was his first ever Grand Slam appearance.
Unfortunately for him, his stint on his debut lasted all of an hour and 54 minutes with de Minaur pulling off a 6-2, 6-2, 6-3 win over Hsu in his opener.
De Minaur, who had won one of his two matches at the United Cup earlier this season, faced just one break-point in the entire match while breaking his opponent six times in total.
And it was his strong serving that helped him out, with the Aussie winning 86% of his first serve points and 71% of the second.
What also aided de Minaur’s cause was the 48 unforced errors that Hsu hit, making it a lot easier to grab hold of the clutch moments in the match.
Things could get slightly trickier in the second round though with his opponent having a lot more experience than Hsu.

Mannarino Sends Isner Packing
The manner in which Mannarino’s first round encounter against John Isner, it looked like it was going to be no different from how most Isner matches go.
That was because the two players shared the first two sets, both off tie-breakers. Mannarino grabbed the first set and had two set-points in the second before Isner came back to grab the equaliser.
What followed was a bit of a surprise. Isner, who hadn’t been broken in the first two sets like has been the case throughout most of his career, was broken four times across the next two sets.
The American’s first serve capitulated badly, winning just 55% of the points, even as Mannarino won 25 of the 27 first serve points in those two sets.
Can Mannarino now dish out something similar to the Aussie too?
de Minaur v Mannarino Prediction and Tip
While De Minaur starts off a 1/5 favourite we reckon Mannarino’s experience and fighting should help him remain in the contest and even win a set.
